Survey CAD Technician

F3 is currently hiring Survey CAD technicians to produce survey calculations for construction layout and as-built projects for builders, engineers and others involved.  This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated, energetic individual who is interested in professional growth and wants to work on complex projects for Fortune 1000 companies.  The position is based in Benicia, CA.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of F3 & Associates project manager(s).
  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings and or field sketches; perform light mathematical calculations and utilize various AutoCAD programs and reference tools to complete assignments.
  • Process survey data and create boundary, topographic, right of way and as built surveys, completing assignments and projects within assigned time frame.
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients to ensure that quality and accuracy commitments are met.

Credentials:

  • A degree preferably in drafting or engineering technology.
  • Must be proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD programs with three (3) years of CAD drafting experience.
  • Knowledge of civil or construction engineering – including reading schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings; strong math and computer skills as applied to CAD drafting related work; and survey principles and methods.
  • Strong communication skills and organized with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, Work and Excel.

Survey Party Chief

F3 is currently looking for a Party Chief for our Benicia office. This position will be in charge of operating survey equipment on projects in commercial construction and industrial environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of field notes, layout coordination and calculation sheets.
  • Manage survey crews and projects.
  • Ability to perform survey field work, and work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Coordinate findings of work with construction and engineering personnel, and others concerned with a project.
  • Brief project managers on projects as they are being completed.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Five years minimum of field surveying including topography and construction staking.
  • Familiar with relevant equipment such as Leica, Trimble Robotic Total Station, digital and conventional levels, and related software applications.
  • Use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D for mapping desirable but not required.
  • Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification is a plus.

Key Requirements:

  • Operating Engineers Local 3 union member.
  • Ability to work safe, independent, and with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Good math and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make decisions with the company’s best interest in mind.
  • Demonstrate a professional manner while communicating with co-workers and clients.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable at the firm’s standard rates and pass a mandatory pre-employment drug screen.
  • Willing to travel is a plus.

Utility Locating Technicians

F3 is currently interviewing for Utility Locating Technicians to assist in the delivery of concrete inspection and underground utility locating services to clients. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated, energetic individual who is interested in professional growth as the department continues to expand and wants to work on complex projects for Fortune 1000 companies. The position is based in Benicia, CA.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of F3 & Associates project manager(s).
  • Previous locating experience is preferred, but not necessary (training will be provided)
  • Various office tasks including equipment and vehicle maintenance, kick off meetings and project management.
  • Complete assignments and projects within assigned time frame.
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients to ensure that quality and accuracy commitments are met.

    Requirements:

    • Must have a good driving record, and the ability to pass a background check and drug test.
    • Strong communication skillts with clients and organized with an acute attention to detail.
    • Must be self-motivated and very professional with a strong work ethic.
    • Physical strength and endurance to perform field work.
    • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions on small to large construction sites.

    Senior Land Surveyor

    F3 is currently looking for a licensed, Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) for our Bay Area office. 

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and manage field crews, managing client expectations on projects from start to finish.
    • Perform quality control on projects to verify the accuracy of survey data and calculations.
    • Certify all work performed under your direction.

      Experience & Qualifications:

      • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with boundary and topographic surveying.
      • Advanced experience with survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total stations.
      • Intermediate skills with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Experience in preparation of maps (Record of Survey Maps, Parcel Maps, Subdivision Maps, Corner Records, etc.)
      • Experience in preparation of legal descriptions and plats.

      Key Requirements:

      • Possess and maintain valid California Land Surveyor’s license, required.
      • Possess and maintain valid California driver’s license, required.
      • Bachelor’s degree in surveying or civil engineering, preferred.
      • Safely perform a variety of physical tasks in inclement weather and in a variety of locations with minimal supervision.
      • Must be able to communicate in a clear and professional manner both verbally and in writing, with co-workers and clients
